Measured Building Surveys
A measured building survey is an accurate representation of a building showing the structural elements and architectural features. The survey will usually consist of:
-
Floor Plans
-
External Elevations
-
Cross Sections
Measured building surveys are produced for a number of reasons including property refurbishment, structural changes, lease plans, historical records, space planning, modelling and visualisation, rights of light and party wall issues etc. Typically, the surveys are used by planners, architects, engineers and interior designers.
Our Measured Building Surveys
Measurement data is usually captured through 3D laser scanning and delivery can be in a variety of 2D or 3D formats according to your requirements. Typically we produce 2D Autocad drawings and PDFs but increasingly we are asked to provide 3D wireframe models and 3D Revit models. All our surveying is undertaken in accordance with specifications from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and guidance from The Survey Association.
3D Revit Models for Building Information Management
An Autodesk Revit model can provide an accurate base model which architects can use to develop the detailed design of their BIM project. We can vary the level of detail modelled to suit your specification and budget but typically the level of detail included is similar to a traditional 2D measured building survey, although all elements are in 3D and therefore much easier to work with, visualize and understand.
